The Trade House of Pfaffenheim

Reputation

The trade house of Pfaffenheim, founded in 1957, has a brilliant reputation, that was gained by the highest quality of wine produced. The quality of wine is confirmed by medals awarded at many different competitions.

The Trade House of Pfaffenheim was awarded 218 medals at the Concours General Agricole de Paris (General Agricultural Goods Contest) in the period of 1967 - 2008. In 1988 Pfaffenheim was named "The wine cellar of the year" in the ranking of "GAULT et MILLAU" magazine, and in 1994, "The best wine cellar of the year" by the magazine REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE.  Pfaffenheim was also named "the wine cellar of the year" by the critic Marc de Champérard in his book "100 Wines Of The Year".

Values

The policy, which has been pursued by the trade house of Pfaffenheim from the date of its foundation, focuses on the quality of wine made. All the attention of winemakers is paid to vineyards, winegrowers, the high quality of equipment, customer requirements and so on.

The soils, on which the vineyards used by Pfaffenheim grow, are saturated with limestone. This  factor helps to make the wines, produced in Alsace, very fatty. The vintage is done only manually, without the use of machines.  In addition to that, the wine grape is thouroughly sorted by the sugar content.

The authentic wines made in the cellars of the House of Pfaffenheim represent the unique terroir of Alsace, which is appreciated by the gourmets and wine admirers.
